Sissonville Elementary School is a one level blond brick structure. The original building was constructed in 1953 with four rooms being added in the mid-1960's and two rooms in the early 1970's. The school features a multipurpose room in which the children eat, have physical education, and assemblies. There is also a special education room, computer lab, library, clinic, counseling room, and speech room. The facility also utilizes three portables which incorporate the pre-school/Headstart classrooms as well as art and music. These are located toward the back of the building. The facility is totally handicap assessable. The rooms are individually air conditioned for the warmer weather. The walkways are covered to accomodate the children when moving to and from the main building.
